Hang on this post is going to be filled with a lot of photos. This wedding is a bit different – I played two roles, wedding photographer and family member which made it quite a unique balance in my day! I love these two more than I can say. Our nephew Christian married his love and best friend Melissa this past Sunday at the beautiful Founders Club in Sarasota. We got to spend five days surrounded by family and it was amazing plus celebrating these two made it even better! Melissa and Christian first met in eighth grade…. EIGHTH GRADE – can you imagine falling in love so deeply that it surpasses time and age. You continue to grow together and become who you are going to be – through high school, college and forward – to know that your best friend back then will become your spouse 13 years to the day from when you first met! Their love story is simply sweet – they met on December 15, 2006, fast forward to December 15, 2019 and they are Mr. & Mrs. Both now in their careers, sharing a home and building a life together! Christian is one of those people that loves fully – he is focused and determined, he’s a joker and loves to make you laugh, but he has such an emotional side as well, wait till you see these first look photos. Melissa balances him, she is calmer, funny, laughs at his silliness and supports him. Enjoy this beautiful wedding that I was honored to not only photograph (and cry behind the camera at times) but attend as a guest!
First look with her dad, sweet sweet moments – not sure how he kept it all together, I know I couldn’t.
Melissa, simply stunning bride – no words!
Be still my heart. Melissa asked to hug Christian from the back before he turned around. They were such in the moment that nothing else mattered, and when he first saw her – the tears were falling from them and me! Took him about 20 seconds to compose himself and look up at her. These moments that are stopped in time will forever live, and they were so focused on each other, nothing around them mattered.
Let the bride and groom portraits begin and let my heart fill with happiness! I want all the palms and spanish moss and mid 70’s weather in December.
These three – love love love them. My extra kids, no matter how old they are they are still kids when together!
Even after the kiss, Christian was still overwhelmed with emotions!
Christian could not stop showing off his ring…..
Oh the light! the sunset glow….they were so willing to do anything, so we put them ‘in’ the high grass and bushes, surrounded by the moss and my heart was happy!
Let the party begin. I stayed behind the camera through the special dances and toasts before Lana took over as my second and so blessed to have her there and capture all the additional memories so I could enjoy being a guest!
Christian and Melissa! Love you both and wish you all the best, a life filled with love, happiness, goofiness and friendship! Remember, you always have each other! Had to include one of all of us together, just missing our sweet Steven who had college finals.
