I can’t believe this is the last wedding for the 2019 season; It has indeed been one for the books! I’ve loved each and everyone, and I look forward to sharing my end of year recap in the coming week! But for now, it’s all about Charlotte and Jake! I met Charlotte about four years ago when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I was photographing. Over the years, she’s been a guest at other weddings I’ve done, and we share four other couples that she also knows. What’s funny is that they don’t all know each other, but Charlotte knows all of us! It truly is a small world! When I initially talked with Charlotte about their wedding, it was going to be where they live in Monterrey, California. I was supposed to be in Cuba at that time, other changes happened between travel, dates, and locations, but in the end, it all aligned. Jake is in the Navy and stationed in Monterrey. They said their I Do’s this past April and decided to bring their closest friends and family together for a celebration in the DC where they met!
This past Saturday, a beautiful December day, Charlotte officially became the bride! Charlotte and her dad experienced a sentimental first look together; next was the first look with Jake and then off to the Lincoln Memorial for photos. Crazy the number of tourists around, but it was so fun, and they cheered these two when I asked them to kiss! We finished up their photos at the National Portrait Gallery for indoor photos with the wedding party and their families! The celebration continued at ANXO Cidery & Pintxos Bar. for dinner, dancing, and drinks!
