Weddings are not only about celebrating a love two people share but also about the families, traditions and legacy they each bring. The paths each goes on to get them to the place where they meet and their worlds become one and a love story begins. This is truly a love story between Mily and Ron. From two different countries who end up meeting and working together, starting with a friendship and growing into a love that lasts years and continues to grow – more than ten years together, this past Saturday they became one and said I Do! They focused on their wedding day, putting together an amazing day filled with love and celebration not only for them but for their friends and family. They wanted to celebrate their love, their cultures and truly have a party to remember! From both the English and Spanish versions of their invitations, to their dog Ginger, to their wedding ceremony in Spanish to their incredibly fun reception with traditional Peruvian dancers and the best Hora Loca I’ve ever witnessed it truly was amazing!
Mily’s parents came from Peru for their big day – and honestly – they stole my heart, they were the sweetest couple.
Such a sweet sweet first look between Mily and her dad!
Few moments Ginger spent with Roni before the ceremony! Such a cute dog!
Got to tell you this photo – made me stop in my tracks. The way Mily’s dad stood behind them after walking her up the aisle was incredibly touching – almost like guarding them with his love and happiness….
During their wedding they included many Latin American traditions, from the lazo to the aras….
Walking into their reception you had to take it all in. Esme with Boda Maestra did amazing, every detail was perfect! The gorgeous (and delicious) came from Mimi’s Mocha Treats included all handmade sugar flowers, the yellow ones are “Flor de Retama” a popular flower from the Ayachucho region in Peru where Mily’s dad is from.
This GORGEOUS dessert table… from Candy Simply was so so pretty, we couldn’t stop looking at it and seeing every little details. From alfajores to cookies and covered apples.
Their wedding favors included miniature bottles of rum called Zacapa from Guatemala, where Roni is from and chocolates from Peru called Princesas.
Their first dance was a traditional waltz called Danubio Azul
For the father/daughter dance – they danced called “Adios Pueblo de Ayachucho”; where Mily’s dad is from. The dance is called huayno ayachuchano which is a traditional dance to honor the region of Ayacucho.
During dinner guests were entertained with Peruvian dancers, which were amazing!
And then the real party began! Which included the funnest Hora Loca I’ve ever experienced and it was amazing! The Hora Loca had rhythms from the Andes, and cholitos (indigenous of Peruvian culture)! This was a non-stop party!
Mily and Roni – Mil gracias por confiar en mi para su boda. Fue un honor y placer compartir su dia! Les deseo hoy y siempre todo lo mejor y todo el amor posible.
