St. Katherine Drexel & Walker’s Overlook Wedding | Dan & Meg

POSTED IN: Weddings

Back in October when we met for their Georgetown University engagement session I knew that their wedding day was going to be extraordinary and truly unique to them! Hearing all of their plans I could see a constant focus which was bringing friends and family together for a true party and celebration! They wanted to make sure they along with their guests were having the time of their lives!  One word truly summarizes Meg and Dan’s wedding – HAPPY!   I mean – from the guys wearing kilts to including each guests in photos displayed at the reception, to food stations focusing on breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes… and going into a full dance party reception – it was non-stop fun! Their ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church with the celebrations at Walker’s Overlook!

Meg’s classic wedding gown (with pockets) was gorgeous… I loved that she said – “I wanted a dress I felt beautiful in” and not only did she feel beautiful but she looked beautiful!

Meg wore the pearl earrings that Dan gave her as a gift!

Oh I loved her bouquet by Blossom & Basket – included white and yellow flowers, calla lilies (my fave), roses, iris… simple stunning

There is that moment I love!! When they walk out as a married couple!!

Meg – you are stunning and simply wonderful! That happiness was felt throughout the day!

This was the most unique entrance I’ve ever photographed, you see on those two panels are photos of EVERY guest that attended their wedding, with their names listed throughout …. all 200 of them. How incredible is that!  Meg & Dan didn’t have your traditional reception. There were no introductions, instead, guests entered through here and were given a table where they could sit down – however, the tables assigned no one knew because they each had a ‘host’ – it was the most unique way to get to mingle with others at your table and those around you!   This was truly an all out party. Once the speeches were completed, the dance floor opened and it didn’t stop!  The ‘special dances’ took place as ‘shout outs and dedications’ and everyone danced with them! Guests were able to grab a bite to eat at any of the stations set up – when ever they wished.  They could choose from breakfast, lunch or dinner! PLUS – Meg and Dan cut their cake right away ‘because life is to short not to eat cake’ and treated their guests to cake throughout the party!

of course the spirits of choice were from Meg and Dan’s distillery  – MISCellaneous Distillery – I”m totally planning a visit to taste the rums!

Just some of the highlights of their party!

Crazy hair, don’t care – I got my photo with them!!!

Meg & Dan! you guys are the best! thank you for everything! Incredible wedding! all the love and happiness always!

I believe in the in between moments - the looks, the smiles, the laughter, in seeing the happiness in the everyday. I believe in smiling often and laughing a lot, in that love has no age and welcome new friendships. Most of all I believe wedding photography are a part of all love stories that will last a lifetime and to be shared with future generations.
