Looking back, I can’t believe I first met Katie about four years ago when she and the GQ Ladies were performing at Sing Strong. We kept in touch and I had the chance to photograph all of them a few years ago. Almost two years ago I photographed Mike and her engagement session and it was amazing! Fast forward to this past weekend and it was their wedding day! Their friends came together to celebrate them in the best way they could! Filled with love, laughter, beer and of course some singing!
I loved Katie’s wedding dress from ModCloth. It was perfect for their wedding, short, sassy, lacy! Her sunflower bouquet held a special charm of her and her dad…
Katie got ready with her friends and were all there to show their love and support.
We headed over to Falling Branch Brewery – and it was just beautiful! I mean, a brewery, custard truck, sunflowers, the perfect breeze in the air and clear blue skies!
Photos from throughout their relationship filled the room. as was so welcoming to all the guests!
Katie and Mike decided on a first look in order to spend sometime together before the ceremony. I love that when Katie tapped his shoulder, he just took it in and smiled before turning around to greet his bride!
Part of her wedding party was there watching the sweet sweet moments….and there were a few tears and many smiles for them!
We took advantage of the weather and the beautiful grounds for their photos….
I had noticed all the groomsmen had pocket nerf guns. Which I asked them to shoot them at Mike during the photos but without him expecting it…. Mission accomplished!
Katie and her lovely ladies and bridesman and of course the GQ ladies!
They had a very special ring bearer, Sam…. this pug is their baby and the sweetest thing ever. He was so good, wore the rings proudly and made sure to be in all the photos with his human!
Oh, it was hard to hold back the tears during this entrance. Three very special men in Katie’s life escorted her down the aisle, the dad’s of the GQ girls. I know how much this meant to Katie and to them. There were not may dry eyes … including mine.
This ceremony was filled with laughter and some wonderful vows exchanged and true true love.
So GQ took a few minutes to sing a beautiful song… and during the vows Mike said how much listening to Katie sing moved him… oh these two images I think sum it up. Her singing on the left and her just looking at her and smiling on the right from across the room! (totally made my heart melt!)
Katie and Mike, you two are simply amazing! Your love and spirit is contagious! thank you so much for asking me to photograph your wedding and to be surrounded by such wonderful friends that truly truly love you both!
